“You’ve really played a huge role in my life.
Keep up the good work. You’re changing lives…”
– recent client feedback after a 2-day presentation skills programme
Regular course feedback
There cannot be many short courses out there where delegates regularly write on their feedback forms that the course has changed their lives. You can only imagine just how much this type of feedback means.
Delegates also regularly ask me if 23 years later I should be bored? The answer to that is an emphatic no. As I get to witness delegates’ lives and self-confidence change on a daily basis, I find this extremely inspirational. No. It’s certainly not boring.
Why is presentation skills training so amazing?
It’s quite simple. In order to be a great presenter, you first need to learn how to be an excellent communicator. Public speaking demands all the foundational communication skills, none of which are taught at schools nor universities.
There is a huge communication skills gap in the majority of the population. This lack of knowledge and functional communication usually leads to a low self-confidence and unconscious communication pitfalls.
Public speaking builds your self-confidence
Imagine your body as a car that nobody has ever taught you how to drive. Lack of knowledge creates justified fear.
When you were growing up, did anyone ever teach you:
- How to use the correct body language and contain your nervous gestures?
- How to project your voice and speak confidently, clearly and compellingly?
- How to control your stress, nerves, fear and jitters?
- How to think on your feet under pressure?
- How to have more presence and project yourself more confidently?
If you have never been taught the five basic principles above, how can you ever be confident? You can never be a success as a presenter, leader, sales person or negotiator unless you have been professionally trained by an executive coach how to master all the five basic modules listed above.
Projecting yourself and your personal brand
If you are going to make an impact anywhere in life, you are going to need to learn how to have presence. Presence is what we project. Extroverts therefore tend to have a much larger presence than introverts do.
The good news is that you can learn how to create and project a far greater presence.
Presence can only be created by projecting three things correctly:
- Your voice
- Your body language
- Your personality and personal energy.
These are all techniques we will teach you.
General communication skills
Day 1 of our presentation skills programmes teach delegates all the basic communication skills they need to present and engage effectively. What is exciting is that these good communication principles and techniques can be used in every situation, in both your professional as well as your personal life.
This results in a great self confidence boost as delegates suddenly have the skills and know how to have a greater presence and impact in every area of their lives. What an upgrade!
Learning public speaking skills can literally change your entire life.
Manage your stress and nerves
Glossophobia, or the fear of public speaking, is the world’s number 1 fear. It is estimated that as much as 75% of the world’s population is glossophobic. That is a massive amount of people (and very good for our business!)
In all our presentation skills programmes, one of the first modules is stress management and self-management under pressure. Being relaxed is an essential prerequisite for excellent communication.
We will teach you how to control your mind, your voice, your emotions and your body language under pressure. This enables you to control and mask your nerves and stress. This is absolutely essential to maintain credibility and inspire trust.
Learn how to connect and engage
Relationship building skills are fundamental to success in every area of our lives. What is so amazing about learning to present, is that presentation skills courses teach you how to connect and engage with your clients, audiences and stakeholders.
The aim of presenting is to ultimately influence your audiences. You can only influence others if you know how to build a good relationship with them. This inspires likeability and trust.
Public speaking teaches you how to read your audiences, as well as how to engage them and build a strong relationship which you can leverage.
Influencing skills
Success in business and life usually hinges around our ability to influence others. Whether you are in a relationship, are a parent, or manage a team, you will need to develop your influencing skills.
Our presentation skills programmes teach you the art of influencing, in a way that is simple and easy.
We will also teach you how to influence the 4 personality types which will empower you in all your personal and professional relationships.
Skills of Perception
In our hostile and volatile world, we all need to be on the hunt for risk. Not only that, every now and again opportunity knocks.
One of the amazing skills our presenters learn is how to be more perceptive.
It is important to learn how to read people, your various stakeholders and larger audiences. This gives you the vital knowledge to pitch according to the temperature and personalities in the room.
Again, a skill that you can apply in every area of your life.
Thinking on your feet
“The human brain starts working the moment you are born and never stops until you stand up to speak in public” – George Jessel
Spontaneous communication / thinking on your feet is the module most delegates tend to find most daunting. Left brain Analytical personality types struggle with this the most as they require time to plan and think. Life does not always allow you this time opportunity.
On our presentation skills programmes we teach you how the brain works. You will learn how to construct thought and deliver impromptu speeches logically, sequentially and creatively.
This module often gives delegates one of their biggest breakthroughs as once you have learnt the skills of impromptu speaking, you can handle yourself in any situation or crisis. This is a huge confidence booster.
Sales skills
Presenting is not about telling. It is always about selling. Influence is always the end game. The problem is that 75% of people do not know how to sell or influence. This is hugely limiting.
Our presentation skills courses teach you how to sell your ideas and influence your clients. This helps you to achieve your goals and targets. Success suddenly becomes attainable.
